The championship opens with 36 holes of stroke play qualifying on Monday and Tuesday, with rounds split between Merion Golf Club and Philadelphia Country Club. Merion will play as a par 70 at 6,939 yards, while Philadelphia Country Club will measure 7,201 yards and also play to a par of 70. Following two rounds of qualifying, the field will be cut to the low 64 players for the match play portion of the championship that will conclude on Sunday, August 16.

Several familiar faces from the Miami Valley area are in the field, including Timmy Hollenbeck, winner of the 2026 Miami Valley Metropolitan Championship and Carson Bellish, the 2026 Ohio Amateur Champion. They’ll be joined by Tyler Sabo, Jeg Coughlin III, AJ Wilhelm and Vaughn Harber.
