 Heather Merz first joined the Miami Valley Golf Association in 2009 and was a valued member of the staff until 2017, when she stepped away to focus on her family. In April 2024, she returned to Miami Valley Golf, bringing her expertise and passion for the organization back with her. Throughout the years, as her sons have grown, Heather has remained active in her community, dedicating her time to various organizations, including Kettering Schools, Oak Creek Swim Team, Kettering City Swim Team, the culinary center at Dorothy Lane Market, and 4 Paws for Ability. She has also worked part-time for a local swim equipment company and a homebuilder, assisting with their accounting operations.A graduate of Centerville High School, Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Dayton. It was at UD that she met her husband, Dave, through a shared commitment to service. They now reside in Kettering with their two sons and their family dog. Her oldest son is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Dayton, while her youngest is in high school. In her free time, Heather enjoys traveling, volunteering, cheering on the Flyers, reading, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
